Madonna – Own work by Chrishm21
Madonna has shared with the world a painful piece of her story: her mother passed away when she was just five years old.In the shadow of that loss, and haunted by the fear that she might lose her father too, little Madonna struggled to sleep unless he was nearby. When he later married the family’s former housekeeper, that sparked a quiet anger in her — an anger that would keep feeding her rebellious spirit, and maybe that was her way of breaking away to forge her own path apart from her father. To understand this more deeply, we must also remember that: every child tends to see their parents as omnipotent figures. So perhaps, something left unsaid that was expressed in that anger — a remnant of that early belief, a protest against her father for not having been able to save her mother’s life.In this paradoxical way, by somehow refusing at that time to fully accept her mother’s death, she could at the same time cope with it: she could bear the unbearable. And maybe that stayed with her forever: the woman we admire today is someone who keeps rebelling while quietly learning at the same time to accept pain as an inevitable part of life.
